The weekend is what I wait for all week...

So as you can all see, Monkey, Blake and I are going to the Strawberry Festival this weekend. Let me tell you, I can not wait!! This is one of the things that I wait all year for. It is so so so much fun!!! Of course, there are rides and great food, but that's not what I go for. No, I go for the crafts. There are quilts, candles, flower displays, jewelry, and just plain stuff to look at! IT IS GREAT! They have really fun stuff for babies too, so I will be keeping my eye out for a new diaper bag. Its going to be girly this time weather I have a boy or a girl, that's all I have to say. I want a girly bag, dang it. I am a girl, and I am the one who is carrying it. So there!
It will be a great time had by all. I think little man is old enough and tall enough now to ride some of the rides, which dear ole' daddy will have to go on with him! That should prove to be some GREAT pictures. On Saturday, when we get home, I will be sure to put some on here. I will also show you the treasures I found at that place.

My Aunt Jackie and Uncle Jerry are having a very special Saturday as well. It is their 40th wedding anniversary!!!!! I wish I could be there to celebrate it with them, but I will be thinking of them Saturday evening as I know they will be renewing their vows. I can't wait for the day that Blake and I are in the same spot as the two of you are. We love you!!!

All i can truely think is Wow.....

As I sit here, literally crying at my desk, I am in Awe. For those of you who don't know, I have a cousin who is going through a very tough time, and was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer 2 years ago, and that Woman is still fighting. I can't imagine what she is going through, and I would never want to be in her shoes. I can say that I have never seen someone with as much drive, love, and just plain being an amaing person through a tough situation. Here is a quote she gave to a local news paper that makes me just tingle (also makes me want to throw away every bad thing in my cabinets for me to eat!!!)....
"I hope that I can inspire people that aren't sick to take care of their bodies. You only get one body, and to take care of it as best you can. And I also hope that people can kind of learn just to enjoy the moment."

You see, even though what she is going through, and what she has to deal with, she is the coach of the No. 2 high school girl's basketball team In the state of Missouri. She is also a mother to 2 very small boys. She is also taking chemo, working,does not miss a game for her girls, or a moment for her boys. That in its self it amazing. I can barely do that without being sick! She also has one of the brightest outlooks that I have ever seen in a person going through so much. Just wanted to give her a little credit from me, in my little part of the world. I might not be a news paper article, or she may never read this, but that woman seriously deserves the best in life, and I hope she gets it. Love you Steph.

It's Friday, clap clap, It's Friday!!!!

YEEEAAAAHHHHHH!! It is the weekend! Can everyone feel it? Gosh, I know that I can. I feel it in my bones when it comes to the weekend. I get cranky at work ( and then feel guilty and sorry for my customers) and I am so ready to get out of this office. Today has been an espically long day. A very very very long day.
Mr. Handsome is at home, lucky guy. His weekends are from Wed to Sat. Which sucks since we only get one whole day together, but hey, that is what we do. God Bless the Air Force. I love being a part of it, I really really do, but man sometimes I miss my Hubby!! Plus, little man loves being around his daddy on his days off of "school" as he calls it.
I also miss being on the military base. living off base is not all cracked up as it is made to be. I miss being around other military wives, and having that built in support group. The next base we go to, I am going to see if we can get to move on base. I loved that in England.
What is everyone else doing on the weekend? I wish it was a little warmer, it has been kinda cool down here. Today the high was sixty, I know, I know, not nearly as cold as some of yall are dealing with, but for Florida, thats chilly!!!! I would have loved to go to the beach. Little monkey loooooovvvvveeeesss the beach. I mean he literally loves it. He has so much fun out there playing with the sand. Maybe we will go and see how much it would be to have a sand box for him at home. That way, he can play with it here....Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I promised little man that this weekend we could go outside and play with some bubbles. He has this toy that is in the shape of a lion, and you press this handle. well the mouth of the lion opens, and out comes bubbles. He loves the thing, and I have not had bubbles in forever. So this weekend is bubble weekend. Hopefully he will enjoy it as much as I know that Blake and I will. It will probably become a competition between all of us on who can make the biggest bubble. Anyone know how to do that?

Valentine's weekend at the Sikes house

Blake and I decided that since we just bought a Wii for each other ( and we all know how that turned out, if not see below) that we were not going to buy any presents for eachother for Valentine's Day. I was true to our deal, and all I bought him was a card, which was a really good one I might add. So can you imagine my suprise, and embarassement, whenever I walk into our bedroom and see this?

HE SAID NO GIFTS!!!! I could not believe it!!! I felt horrible, and he offered to take it back, but why do that? haha. He knows how long I have been wanting a new quilt for our bedroom, and I fell in love with this one.
Please excuse the monkey in the middle of the bed, he would not get out after he saw that I was taking pictures. He is such a Ham.

So, when we visited St. Louis, my parents were asking me if I wanted the vanity that was in my bedroom when I was a little girl. If I didn't take it, they were going to throw it out. HUH??? NOT MY BEDROOM FURINTURE!!!!! HAHA. Lets just say it has wonderful sentimental value to me. Well, when I brought it back to FL from St. Louis, it needed some work. I stripped it, almost completely, and then I found out I was pregnant. Well, Blake had to pick up the slack for me. That wonderful man sanded it, which was not easy, and painted it for me. He had it finished by Valentine's night. Isn't it beautiful? I love it to death.

Because of this lovely little baby that i am carrying now, I can't sleep worth a darn!!! It sucks. So below is depicted my lovely pillow that is now in the bed with us every night. Oh man does it take up a lot of room, but it helps a lot!!! Picture me, Mr. Handsome and Daisy all in the bed with this pillow. It's a tight squeeze.

So I walked into our bedroom this evening, and This is what i see....I asked Jackson what in the world he was doing and he says to me " Daisy is under the bed, and I want to play!" Well, obviously Bubby, Daisy does not want to play.

This is my poor Daisy hiding from little man because she was scared for some unknown reason. God only knows what that little booger did to her.

Well, I hope everyone else had a lovely valentines weekend, and I will leave you with this. It is not from this weekend, but it is the 2 people in my life that keep me sane, and I love them so so much!!!

OHH Wii, you hurt me.....

Happy Friday the 13th everyone!!!! I'm really not a person who puts to much empahsis on bad juju and everything, especially on days like this, but you can never be to careful. This is my public announcment. Be careful, people are crazy out there.

So back to my lovely title of today's little story. So on Monday night Mr. Handsome says, lets play some tennis on the WII. I am all for it. Any chance that I have to beat my hubby at something, I am up to the challenge!
We start to play, and of course he beats me every time. So then we start the bowling game. OHHHH YEAH I beat him baaaadddddd (thank you Uncle Jerry)!!!!!!!!!!
So the next day I wake up, and my back is KILLING me. I think it was from the tennis. I don't know, all that i know is that my back is hurting sooooooo bad. At first, I thought it was something with the baby. Oh man did I get scared!!! My mom had to calm me down, as well as my hubby. Finally I decided to go to the doctor. I went, and he told me that I had indeed pulled some muscles in my back. Ouch. Unfortunately, he could not perscribe any medications for pain because of the pregnancy. Dang it!!!! All he gave me was a muscle relaxer, It is ok for the baby, and some motrin. ugh! Not fun for me.

So this past week I have been on Muscle relaxers that make me sooooo sleepy. I went to bed last night at 745. That was kinda nice for me, not so much for Hubby. How in the heck am I going to stay up with that crap in my body?

That brings me to this weekend. It is Valentine's Day. HMMMMMM, I'm not very big on this holiday. To tell you the truth, i think its pretty BUNK. I mean, I don't need a special day to have my loved ones express their love to me. It is almost like they have to do it. How about some spontaneity people? Just give me a card this Saturday and be done with it. But the good thing about this year is we have a baby sitter....wooooohoooooo!!! I still have no idea what we are going to do, but it will be something. Maybe a movie, but that is probably something every other couple will be doing. man that sucks, and I might not be able to stay awake through it. (Thanks again Mr. Wii.)

Not Me Monday, Again.....

Ok everyone, it is Monday, the day of the week that i truely dread. ugh.... So this is my Not Me Monday post...

I DID NOT wake up this morning to a cuddly little monkey in my bed, wanting to snuggle just a little longer, and telling me to not go to work and we can stay home and play.

I DID NOT tell my wonderful mother in law how good her pot roast smelled last night for dinner and when she put it on the table, almost threw up everywhere at the sight of it, oh no Not Me.

I AM NOT at work, wondering how little monkey is doing at school, wishing i could have stayed home and played with him all day.

I AM NOT drinking coffee still....Only 1 cup. That will be so hard to give up.

I AM NOT excited about my dr. apt next monday to find out what is going on with my new little one, and to let her know that I refuse to gain any weight. literally.

So those are my not me's this past week. Hope everyone else has a great weekened.

I know that my grandma's birthday party was this past weekend. I soooo wish I could have been there to see everyone. It really makes me miss my HUGE family up in St. Louis. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!!!

Well you all know him as Mr. Handsome, but of course I love my hubby!!!! He is the greatest and treats me like a princess.

Baseball.
GO CARDS!!!!! I love love love baseball. My parents had season tickets to the Cards when I was growing up, and I just loved going to all of the games. It was a blast.

Booger Butts
HAHAHA. That is a nickname for my little boy Jackson. Who said we couldn't use nicknames for this game? No one, because I am making up the rules as I go along.

Blankets
Seriously, I love them. I have one on me at all times, except at work. They are so comfy, and I have made about 20 of them, no joke. I especially love the afghan my daddy made me, and the one i made myself from fleece.

Books
OOOO my favorite past time. I love to read. It takes me to another place and time, and I get lost in it. I love that feeling. I have been reading since a very young age, and would never give that up.

Berries
Especially rasberry and strawberry. mmmmmm...... add that to banana and you got yourself my favorite smoothie. God Bless Tropical Smoothie.

Blue
It is one of my favorite colors. I have three. My absolute favorite is pink. Sorry Blue, don't mean to hurt your feelings.

Barbie dolls
Ok, never really grew out of that stage. I love that girl. she has everything, the man, the house, the car, the dog...Wow, what a dream.

Boots
I hate that i live in Florida and i can't wear my boots as nearly as often as i would like. I love boots of all kind. Cowboy, leather, knee high, ankle, and the list goes on and on and on.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! did you really think that I would do a game like that with out a great thing at the end? Mr. Handsome and I are expecting our 2nd child. Im so happy I can barely see straight!!!!
